I don't know my grandfather.

          At the age of 21 I finally asked my dad about him. I was shocked to learn that my grandfather had disappeared without a trace until my dad received a death certificate from a Romanian hospital in 2014. But everyone in my family was certain it was a fake.

          No one tried to find him.

In the documentary "Kettenbaggeropa," I set out to find my grandfather and learn about his legacy. Clues lead me to Portugal and Romania. Along the way, I discovered not only why he left, but also how his life influenced mine.
